Your system has a very in depth customer & customer rewards system built into it. You can access your customer system from the front till via the customer button on your screen or the back office by going to File > Customers > Customers

Under customers you can search for a customer by a number of specific fields at the top of your screen, you can Discontinue, Add and Modify customers from the bottom right of the screen or you can filter to include bar tabs or see discontinued customer from the bottom left.


A customer account can be setup many ways, some are setup to accrue points, to have automatic discounts or link to specific promotions or just running normal customer accounts that are paid monthly or weekly. Setting Up Bar Tabs


To set up a bar tab go to the customer area in Idealpos as mentioned above and Press the Add button in the bottom right hand corner and follow the below steps:


  1. First give the Bar Tab a name, eg Bar Tab 1.

  2. Next select Bar Tabs from your Customer Type

  3. Tick Bar Tab

  4. Tick Allow Pre-Paid if applicable

  5. Set a Credit Limit






Setting Up Customer Accounts


To set up a Customer Account go to the customer area in Idealpos as mentioned above and Press the Add button in the bottom right hand corner and follow the below steps:


  1. First give the Account a name,

  2. Next select Customer Accounts from your Customer Type

  3. Give the Account a Discount if applicable

  4. Tick Account

  5. Set a Credit Limit

  6. Set the Aging Type, 30-60-90 or 7-14-21

  7. We recommend Putting in an Email Address or Contact Number also





Business Accounts


The system can be setup to have master accounts, this is most frequently used when a business wants to give their staff a weekly tab at a cafe but wants to keep track of who uses it.


The first step in doing this is to create the business as an account following the steps above to add an account. An example is below:

The second step is to create a customer account following the steps below however instead of setting a credit limit you need to click the arrow for Master Account and select the master account. An example of this is below:
